The Knights Templar is our fabulous function room — a unique and charming space for your celebrations. Set within its own historic building, it comes complete with a private bar, toilets, and plenty of character. It’s the perfect venue for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate functions, or any special gathering.
Whether you’re planning a lively party or a more intimate get-together, our friendly team will work with you to create a memorable experience for you and your guests. The Knights Templar offers a large, customisable space full of historical charm, a private bar, a performance stage with disco lighting, and the option to hire a DJ. Buffet options and hot drinks are also available to suit your event.
The room can accommodate up to 80 guests, or up to 35 seated. You can book for up to 6 hours, with longer bookings available on request. We’re open for private hire daily from 10:30am. The cost is just £80 — and it’s half-price during January and February.

Our Story
Welcome to The Knights Templar — a unique function room inspired by the rich and mysterious history of the medieval Knights Templar. Our venue takes its name from the legendary order of warrior monks who once held lands in Keele during the 12th and 13th centuries. The Templars, renowned for their bravery and secrecy, established a preceptory here, using the surrounding area to support their missions across Europe and the Holy Land.
Today, The Knights Templar room blends this heritage with modern elegance — offering a space where guests can gather, celebrate, and create memories beneath the shadow of history. Whether you're planning a wedding, party, or business event, you'll be part of a story that began centuries ago.
